Where a client chooses to provide it, access is granted directly through the client's financial institution, and is used solely to retrieve statements and reconcile transactions — we do not have the ability to move funds, make payments, or alter accounts through this access. Clients who prefer not to provide this access instead submit monthly statements through our shared document system, and we handle that information with the same care described in this policy.

We rely on established third-party platforms to deliver our services, including:

QuickBooks Online and Xero — for bookkeeping and payroll processing
Google Drive, Dext, or Hubdoc — for shared storage of receipts and invoices

These providers maintain their own privacy and security practices, which govern how data is stored and protected on their platforms. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies. ABN Bookkeeping accesses these platforms solely to perform the services you've engaged us for.

We retain client financial records and related documentation for as long as necessary to provide our services and to meet legal and regulatory record-keeping requirements (including CRA requirements). Website contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to and manage the inquiry.

We take reasonable steps to protect client information, including using secure, reputable platforms for document storage and financial data, and limiting any bank access provided to view-only permissions. That said, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
